Realism and Whimsy

Throughout my career as a freelance graphic artist, I created thousands of technical, commercial, educational, and editorial illustrations while adhering to relevant guidelines, editorial constraints, and client preferences. In 2003, I retired from that world. Now returning to art after a second career in nursing, I am no longer restrained. I'm now free to see the world on my terms and recognize the artwork in it. I create art based on seeing what others may miss, capturing beauty in the tiny details of a leaf or a fold of fabric, beguiling the eye with a geometric pattern of rooftops, or captivating the viewer with the whimsical juxtaposition of ideas.
